Riksteatern utlyser fem skapandestöd för cirkusartister och cirkuskompanier under 2 veckor var 2026. Riksteatern erbjuder skapandestöd som ett alternativ till sina produktionsresidens och är ett sätt att stötta cirkusartister i hela landet som behöver en scen att arbeta på. Under skapandestödet får artisterna tid för fokuserat arbete, undersökande, reflektion och utveckling av det egna konstnärliga uttrycket.

Vad ingår

• En outrustad blackbox-teater
• Möjlighet att dokumentera arbetet med filminspelningar.
• En timmes coachning med en av Riksteaterns producenter.
• Publikgenomdrag av residensarbetet, om önskvärt men inget krav.
• Presentation av utvalda artister/kompanier på Riksteaterns hemsida för cirkusresidens samt via Riksteaterns sociala medier.
• Vid behov går det att hyra scenteknik, dansmatta, teknikersupport och liknande av Riksteatern mot en kostnad.

När
I din ansökan anger du vilken/vilka perioder du söker och vilken som är ditt förstahandsval, andrahandsval osv.
Vi kan inte garantera att vi erbjuder dig ditt förstahandsval om du blir utvald för skapandestöd.

• Skapandestöd period 1: 9 – 22 mars, 2026
• Skapandestöd period 2: 23 mars – 5 april, 2026
• Skapandestöd period 3: 28 april – 12 maj, 2026
• Skapandestöd period 4: 10 – 23 augusti, 2026
• Skapandestöd period 5: 27 oktober – 10 november, 2026

Ansökningskrav
• Riksteaterns skapandestöd riktar sig till cirkusartister, cirkuskompanier och/eller regissörer som är skrivna i Sverige. Även internationella samarbeten kan ansöka om minst en av gruppens deltagare är skriven i Sverige.

• Ovan personer som har en produktion med behov av att repetera 1:1 i en teater/blackbox eller för att utveckla en idé/produktion.

Ansökningsperiod
1 november – 1 december 2025.
Besked lämnas till samtliga sökanden i slutet av december, 2025.
Vi har tyvärr inte möjlighet att ge feedback på ansökan.

Ansökan ska innehålla

• Namn på artist/kompani.
• Namn på kontaktperson.
• E-post till kontaktperson.
• Mobilnummer till kontaktperson.
• Länk till eventuell hemsida och/eller sociala medier.
• Länk till filmat material.
• Presentation av grupp/kompani eller som enskild konstnär (disciplin, erfarenhet, utbildning, osv).
• Presentera ditt/ert projekt. Beskriv så utförligt som möjligt, detta är beslutsgrundande.
• En beskrivning av dina/era förväntningar på perioden. Vad har du/ni tänka att jobba med.
• Bifoga presentation av tidigare material/verk, CV samt ritningar eller bilder av modeller, prototyper för ditt projekt om du har eller liknande. Laddas upp tillsammans med ansökan.
• Har du fått beviljade bidragsansökningar, samarbetspartners och/eller Letter of intent? Om ja, vilka?

Welcome to apply for Riksteatern's Creative Support residency for circus 2026!

Riksteatern is announcing five creative support  residencies for circus artists and circus companies, each lasting two weeks in 2026. Riksteatern offers creative support residencies as an alternative to its production residencies and as a way to support circus artists throughout the country who need a place to work. During the creative support residency, artists are given time for focused work, exploration, reflection, and development of their own artistic expression.

Location
Riksteatern production houset in Hallunda, Stockholm.

Included in the creative support residency

• An unequipped black box theater
• Opportunity to document the work with film recordings.
• One hour of coaching with one of the producers at Riksteatern.
• Public preview of the residency work, if desired but not required.
• Presentation of selected artists/companies on the Riksteatern website for circus residencies and via Riksteatern's social media.
• If needed, stage technology, dance mats, technical support, and similar items can be rented from Riksteatern at a cost.

When
In your application, please specify which period(s) you are applying for, and which is your first choice, second choice, etc.
We cannot guarantee that we will offer you your first choice if you are selected for one of the creative support residencies.

Application requirements

• Riksteatern's creative support residencies is aimed at circus artists, circus companies, and/or directors who are registered in Sweden. International collaborations may also apply if at least one of the group's participants is registered in Sweden.
• The above individuals who have a production that needs to be rehearsed 1:1 in a theater/black box or to develop an idea/production.

Application period
November 1–30, 2025.
All applicants will be notified by the end of December 2025.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide feedback on applications.

The application must include

• Name of artist/company.
• Name of contact person.
• Email address of contact person.
• Mobile phone number of contact person.
• Link to website and/or social media, if applicable.
• Link to filmed material.
• Presentation of group/company or as an individual artist (discipline, experience, education, etc.).
• Present your project. Describe it as thoroughly as possible, as this will form the basis for the decision.
• A description of your expectations for the period. What do you plan to work on?
• Attach a presentation of previous material/works, CV, and drawings or images of models, prototypes for your project, if you have them, or similar. Upload together with the application.
• Have you been granted any grants, collaboration partners, and/or letters of intent? If so, which ones?

Please note that incomplete applications will not be included in the selection process.
