Riksteatern looks for five dancers for a new work by OR/ELLER

A unique initiative for young dancers as Riksteatern and Scenkonst Sörmland co-produce a work by some of Sweden’s most exciting choreographers. 

The performance Yonder can be described “as if Beethoven and Bach had a child with Beyoncé". Yonder is created for a teenage audience and will be a piece with intense presence, like an endless summer night or a longing for somewhere else. 

Together with OR/ELLER, we are looking for five young dancers with strong charisma, specific physicality, and dancing virtuosity. We look for and welcome the full width of styles, skills and backgrounds from the entire dance community. 

You are 

- A recent graduate of a dance program, with your degree obtained within the last three years of the audition date. 

- Interested in and capable of using your craft to engage with choreographic and improvisational structures and tasks. 

- Curious about closely interacting with the audience 

- Interested in developing your own movement material and learning detailed choreographic material created by others. 

Employment period: November 2025 - April 2026.  

Rehearsals will take place at Riksteatern in Hallunda (Stockholm). Premiere in February with a following tour in Sweden. 

Salary according to the collective agreement.

Application period: 14 October - 15 November 2024

- A CV that includes a photo, details of your completed or ongoing education, and other relevant dance experience, such as employment. 
 

- A newly recorded improvised solo, not exceeding three minutes. Please upload the video and provide a link to Vimeo or YouTube. If the link is private, include the password. We will not review material linked from other sites. 

Audition by invitation only 

When: 15-16 February 2025 with call-backs scheduled for the second day.

Riksteatern is Sweden's largest stage for dance, theatre, and circus. We are both a state-funded cultural institution and a popular movement consisting of over 200 local national theatre associations and affiliated organizations. 

Scenkonst Sörmland has the whole of county Sörmland as its field of work. In dialogue with the county, we produce, convey, and arrange current music, theatre, dance, and film, as well as conduct educational activities. 

Together, we are part of creating the conditions for contemporary dance to reach audiences throughout Sweden every year. We make room for bold initiatives and artistry that broaden and renew both expressions and stories.
